Astrophotography

The dark skies of Wyoming renewed my childhood interest in astronomy. Here are a few photos taken since moving here. I have actually not been doing much deep space (telescope) work because of lack of time and proper equipment, so it is unlikely I will be adding much to this page in the near future. I was, however, fortunate to achieve a childhood dream of mine to see a total solar eclipse. Totality for the 2017 eclipse just happened to pass through my backyard here in Wyoming! Several years later I got to witness the Great Geomagnetic Storm of May 2024, another lifelong dream. For time lapse videos of the eclipse and aurora, check out my blog pages for those years.
